Dan Chouinard is cute. I missed the accordion though.

Can you tell me if you will be having Noon free courtroom concerts in any upcoming 2008 months? At this time your calendar only shows Jan. concerts. We are trying to plan some small group outings for 2008. Thank you

  3. The Schubert Club Says:

The Courtroom Concert Series runs every Thursday through the end of April. At this point the 2008 months are still being scheduled. A public calendar will be available soon.

If you have a group of ten or more, please call The Schubert Club’s main office at 651-292-3267

    Thanks for your interest!

Several times last season, although we arrived early to be able to select good seats, we found many choice seats roped off. We feel that for a no-charge, general-seating concert this is not fair to those of us who make an effort to arrive early. And, on occasion, after we found other seats, the ropes were removed as the group for which the seats were being held did not attend. I urge you to reconsider your seating policies so the policies are fair to all who attend. If it is possible to reserve seats, then that option should be announced and made known and available to all patrons. Thank you.

Shirley, Thank you for supporting our free, noon-time Courtroom Concert series. Your comment is just in time as we are working on the final details to open our series this Thursday! In an effort to assist our groups, we request reservations for parties of 10 or more, so that we can more easily help our patrons enjoy sitting together. As seen in our Courtroom Concert FAQs, reservations are only available to groups. However, we share your thoughts, and thanks to your helpful comment, starting this Thursday, we will relocate the group seating area and make the best seats available on a first come first serve basis to all of our patrons.

Thank you for your comment and your patronage to our courtroom concert series. We hope to see you this Thursday!

Allow me to gush. Today’s Courtroom Concert was exceedingly fine. These concerts are always very good, and often very, very good. But today’s seems to have set a new standard. Exceedingly good. Both the cellist, Hanno Strydom, and the pianist, Colton Peltier, put the Courtroom Concert series in a league with the finest concert venues anywhere. But then I think back, and actually, the concerts are often at this level.

And I sit there, every week, in the front row, and pay nothing. It’s a gift, and one I appreciate.

You should get that baroque ensemble from the St. Paul Conservatory of Music to perform again – they were great (especially the cellist!)

  8. Michelle Says:

I love the concerts. I am an activity coordinator at an assisted living facility and I often take a group of elderly people to the concerts. We are never able to sit together because of the crowd. I do wish that the space was bigger. Can you move the concerts to a bigger room?

  9. schubert Says:

Michelle, Thank you for supporting the Courtroom Concerts. When balancing acoustics and atmosphere, we believe Courtroom 317 is the best location within the Landmark Center for our Thursday Courtroom Concerts. It is also the largest Courtroom. Please let us know when you are attending as a group, and we will be happy to reserve a space for your group to sit together.

It’s Wednesday and I would normally be preparing for the concert tomorrow but this week I will on the operating table for a little procedure. I’m already jonesing for the Courtroom Concert. I’ll be missing the wonderful apprentice composers and this makes me very sad. They are all amazing!
Thanks for producing these events. They are remarkable in so many ways. It is a very real gift to the City of Saint Paul that the Schubert Club produces every Thursday from October through April. Bravo, Schubert Club!!!
